As a 5th generation New Braunfels resident I've devoted myself to bettering my hometown. Throughout my life, I've watched my family work tirelessly to put food on the table and pay bills, with nothing to show for it.

This is why I'm running for City Council, to make sure no family has to live like that. It is time our city prioritizes

affordable housing and lower taxes so people can spend less time worrying and more time enjoying their city.

Bently got started around 2020 when he attended and photographed multiple BLM protests in Austin, after witnessing many cases of police brutality and government corruption. He decided that he wanted to be more involved and one day run for office to be a politician that the people could trust to deliver results. He first got in contact with the Bexar County Democratic Party to express that he was just getting started but ready to learn and help however he could. From there they connected him with the Comal County Democrats where he started block-walking and phone-banking for local campaigns and later to be the photojournalist for Mycanyonlake.com (a local online newspaper for Canyon Lake and New Braunfels)

After 2 years of working with the Comal County Democrats he started working with groups all around Texas which inspired him to create the Comal Young Democrats where he advocated for younger peoples voices to be heard along with giving them a platform to voice their views and opinions on problems affecting them. After showing a more progressive stance on various topics, he lost some support from the Democrats but gained support from local Republicans after showing his capabilities of listening and finding common ground on local issues to produce bipartisan solutions.

Bently later went on to work with Claudia Zapata (Democratic nominee for TX-21) as her Field Director where he would assist in organizing events, gathering volunteers for block-walks, and engaging with the community. After a few months of working on Claudias team, Bently learned the true purpose and value of running for office and what it means to listen to and serve your community which made him decide to run for city council.
